Svea Windwehr has been with GFF since November 2023. She is an expert in digital policy and platform regulation. Most recently, she was part of the public policy team at Google Germany, where she worked on issues relates to intermediary liability and platform regulation, such as NetzDG, the Digital Services Act, protection of minors as well as AI policy. Previously, she was a Mercator Fellow at the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. Prior to that, she served as a coordinator for inter-institutional relations at the European Commission's Directorate-General Connect, where she managed legislative processes related to digital policy. She volunteers as the co-chair of D64 – Center for Digital Progress e.V. She studied political science and international relations in Maastricht and Berkeley and holds a master's degree from the Internet Institute at the University of Oxford.
